
 Swimmer Taylor Kneisley Named South Coast Conference Co-Swimmer Of The Year

(Walnut, CA) Sophomore Mountie Men's Swimmer, Taylor Kneisley was named the 2012 South Coast Conference (SCC) Co-Swimmer of the Year. Kneisley, a transfer from Henderson State University, captured SCC titles in the 100 Yard Freestyle (46.43), 100 Yard Breaststroke (56.34) and helped lead the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay to a SCC championship (1:24.78). Kneisley was the only individual champion for the host Mounties.
As noted earlier, the team of Jason Nichols (FR, Claremont H.S.), Quinn Brewton (FR, Damien H.S.) , Ruben Carillo (Monrovia H.S.) and Taylor Kneisley captured the SCC Title in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay in 1:24.78. On the women's side, the sole SCC championship for the Mounties came from the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay Team of Lilliana Delgadillo (FR, Glendora H.S.), Danielle Tenney (SO, Chino Hills H.S.), Olivia Stump (FR, Upland H.S.) and Melissa Pryor (SO, Walnut H.S.) who won with a time of 8:13.07.

Mt. SAC Men's and Women's Swimming Earn All-American Honors

(Walnut, CA) The 2011 campaign for the Mt. SAC Men’s and Women’s Swimming Program was an extremely successful one, producing 10 individuals earning 20 All-American Honors (top 16 in the nation). These 10 individuals, 5 men and 5 women earned 7 individual event women’s All-Americans, 5 individual event men’s All-Americans, 4 women’s relay team All-Americans and 4 men’s relay team All-Americans.
Leading the way for the women was South Coast Conference Swimmer of the Year and State Champion (2 events), Nicole Blum (SO, Santiago H.S.), who earned All-American Honors in 9 events (4 relays, 5 individual events). Nicole Carlton (SO, Walnut H.S.) earned All-American Honors in 6 events (4 relays and 2 individual events).
On the men’s side, Cody Yeo (SO, Upland H.S.) and Jake Fletcher (FR, Brea-Olinda H.S.) were the two most dominant Mountie swimmers racking up 6 All-American accolades each (Yeo-3 relays, 3 individual events, Fletcher-4 relays, 2 individual events).
Congratulations to the Mountie Swim Program and Head Coaches Marc Ruh (Men) and Chris Jackson (Women) for another outstanding season.

 Women's Swimming Places 7th At The State Championships With Nicole Blum Capturing 2 Individual State Championship Titles

(Monterey Park, CA) The Women's Swimming Team finished the 2011 season with a 7th place finish at the 2011 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Women's Swimming Championships with a final score of 178 points. Nicole Blum and Nicole Carlton did the grunt work for the Mounties with Blum capturing 2 State Championships in the 500 Freestyle and 1650 Freestyle.
- Nicole Blum (SO, Santiago H.S.) - 500 Freestyle Champion in 5:03.46
- Nicole Blum (SO, Santiago H.S.) - 1650 Freestyle Champion in 17:27.83
- Nicole Blum (SO, Santiago H.S.) - 100 Butterfly 7th Place in 1:01.30
- Nicole Carlton (SO, Walnut H.S.) - 500 Freestyle 8th Place in 5:18.95
- Nicole Carlton (SO, Walnut H.S.) - 1650 Freestyle in 4th Place in 18:13.05
The Mounties were also finalists in the the following Relay events.
- 800 Freestyle Relay (Carlton, Simons, Pryor, Blum) 2nd place in 8:00.65
- 400 Freestyle Relay (Pryor, Simons, Carlton, Blum) 5th place in 3:43.56

 Women's Swimming/Diving Takes Second Place At The 2011 South Coast Conference Championships

(Norwalk, CA) The Womenn's Swimming/Diving Team came up just a little short, but managed to take second place at the 2011 South Coast Conference (SCC) Championships with a combined score of 657 points. The championships event held at Cerritos College was won by Chaffey College (784 points), who along with the Mounties, was the only other team in contention. For the Mounties the following individuals captured individual SCC Championships.
- Nicole Blum (SO, Santiago H.S.) - 200 Freestyle in 1:56.43, 100 Backstroke in 1:01.44, 100 Butterfly in 59.70
- Nicole Carlton (SO, Walnut H.S.) - 500 Freestyle in 5:17.43, 1650 Freestyle in 18:10.64
The Mounties also captured the following Relay events.
- 200 Freestyle Relay (Blum, Simons, Carlton, Pryor) in 1:43.11
- 400 Freestyle Relay (Pryor, Simons, Carlton, Blum) in 3:43.56
- 800 Freestyle Relay (Carlton, Simons, Pryor, Blum) in 8:02.28
The Mounties will now travel to East Los Angeles College, to compete at the California State Community College Swimming Championships to held on April 28th through the 20th.

 Women's Swimming finds success at Pasadena Invitational

The Mt. SAC Women's Swim Team finished in 4th place at the Pasadena Invite this past weekend. This final tune-up meet before the post season was very successful for the Mountie Women, as many of the them finished in the top 10 in their events. The meet was highlighted by outstanding performances from Nicole Blum & Nicole Carlton who both finished in the top 5 in seven different events.
The Men's & Women's Swim & Dive teams begin the road to the State Championships at the South Coast Conference Championships with Diving April 15-16 at El Camino College and Swimming events April 21-23 at Cerritos College.  Women's Swimming finish season strong after tough loss

(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Swimming Team defeated LA Trade Tech but then came up short against undefeated Chaffey at the March 25th dual meet. They rebounded the next week with a close win over Cerritos. The Women's finish the season with a strong 7-1 record and their 6-1 conference record leaves them in second place.
The Women's Swim team will finish the regular season at the Pasadena Invitational this Friday and Saturday, April 8th & 9th. Men's and Women's Swimming currently UNDEFEATED

(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's and Women's Swimming Teams are both undefeated entering the second half of the season. Both teams are currently 5-0 overall and 4-0 in conference. Keep up the good work!
Men's and Women's Swimming Defeat San Diego Mesa

(San Diego, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's and Women's SwimmingTeams captured their first dual meet contest against San Diego Mesa on Tuesday, February 22nd at S.D. Mesa College. The men defeated S.D. Mesa by a score of 110 to 85, while the women defeated S.D. Mesa by a score of 102-97.
