Ivan Armenta Named to the NSCAA All-American Team

Freshman Defender, Ivan Armenta from Ontario High School was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) All-American First Team. Armenta led the Mounties to a second place finish at the 2008 California Community College State Championships. Along with Armenta, Spencer Jones was named to the All-Far West Community College Regional Soccer Team. Armenta was named to the First Team, while Jones was named to the second team.

Men's Soccer Finishes with a Heartbreaking Loss in the State Championship Game

Santa Clarita, CA - The Men's Soccer Team put up a valiant effort, but in end came up short, losing to conference rival, Cerritos College, 1 to 0 in the California Community College State Championship Game. Mounties Goalkeeper, Luis Ocampo had 4 saves and held Cerritos College to one goal, but that was all it took, as the Mounties failed to score. The lone goal for Cerritos came when a Mountie player went to slide tackle, Cerritos Tournament MVP Forward Carlos Gonzales just in front of the goal, accidentally sending the ball into Mounties goal. The Mounties finish the season with a record of 19-5-3. Congratulations to Head Coach Juan Sanchez, his staff and the players for another outstanding season!

Men's Soccer Advances to the State Championship Game

The Men's Soccer Team defeated Cabrillo College in the State Championship Semi-Finals, 3-0. The Mounties will now face their conference rival, Cerritos College in the State Championship Game. Cerritos narrowly defeated the number 1 ranked Northern California Team, Santa Rosa, 2 to 1 in overtime. The championship game will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 10:00 am at the College of the Canyons.

Men's Soccer Earns A Repeat Trip to the State Championship Final Four

The Men's Soccer Soccer Team advanced to the State Championship Final Four with a 3-1 win at home over Santa Barbara City College. The Mounties will now face Cabrillo College in the State Semi-Final game on Friday, December 5, 1:00 pm at the College of the Canyons.
