Baseball Season Ends With Two Losses In The Super Regionals
(Costa Mesa, CA) After winning their first Super Regional Game, the Baseball Team suffered two tough losses today and were eliminated from the Super Regionals. In the first game, the Mounties were shutout by #1 seed Orange Coast College, 0-5 and in the second game, the Mounties were defeated by #5 seed Glendale College, 2-9, ending the Mounties 2012 season. The team finished the season with a very impressive record of 31-10 and the 2012 South Coast Conference Championship! Congratulations to Head Coach Stacy Parker, his staff and the players for a fantastic 2012 campaign!

Mounties Advance One Step Closer To State Championships!
(Walnut, CA) The Mountie Baseball Team (30-8) swept #13 seed, Golden West College (18-18-1) in two games, 5-3 and 2-0 here at Mazmanian Field. In the first game, the Mounties were behind 6-2 until the bottom of the ninth inning when the Mounties unloaded on the Rustlers, scoring 5 runs to come from behind and defeat the Rustlers. In the second game, it was Mt. SAC shutting out the Rustlers behind winning pitcher, Ken Kissell (6-0, SO, Charter Oak H.S.) who pitched a complete game, giving up only 1 hit with 9 strikeouts to shutout the Rustlers.
The #4 ranked Mounties will move on to the Super Regional (double elimination tournament) where they will face 3 other formidable opponents including: Orange Coast College (#1 seed, 33-4-1), Cypress College (#8 seed, 24-14) and Glendale College (#5 seed, 27-10) who they will face first this Friday, at 3:00 pm at Orange Coast College (Costa Mesa, CA).

Mt. SAC Baseball Wins First Outright Conference Championship in History!
(Walnut, CA) The Mounties (27-8, 16-4) shutout Cerritos College to capture the South Coast Conference Championship. Kenny Kissell pitched a 1 hitter, walking 1 batter, and striking out 6 to pick up his 5th win of the season. Mt. SAC broke the game open in the 5th inning scoring 7 runs. Jake bailey led the offensive attack with 3 hits and 2 RBI, Dwight Tardy and Richard Rollice each had 2 RBI, Adrian Franco had 2 hits and and RBI.

 First Baseman Adrian Franco Named Southern California Player Of The Week
(Walnut, CA) First Baseman, Adrian Franco (FR, Bishop Amat H.S.) has been name Southern California Player of the Week by the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) for the week of March 19th through the 25th.
This past week, Franco was 10 for 17 at the plate, with a .588 batting average. His 10 hits included 4 doubles on Saturday (03/24) vs Pasadena. Franco also contributed 8 RBI's this past week with an incredible slugging percentage of .824.
Congratulations to Adrian Franco for earning Southern California Player of the Week honors.

Mountie Baseball Team Moves Full Steam Ahead!!!
(Walnut, CA) The Mounties (17-6, 8-2) ranked #7 in Southern California, pick up their fifth straight win at Long Beach City College by the score of 6-2. In the first of 3 series against the Vikings, Taylor Jimenez (4-0) (SO, Chino H.S.) picked up his fourth win by pitching 8 innings, allowing only 6 hits, 1 run and striking out 3 batters. The Mt. SAC offense was lead by Joe Duran (FR, La Habra H.S.) and Jacob Shirley (FR, South Hills H.S.) each getting 3 hits.
Last week the Mounties swept cross town rival, Pasadena City College, in their three game series. The team scored 56 runs as opposed to the Lancers 6 runs during the three game series, including a Mt. SAC record of 31 runs in the third game of the series.
Mt. SAC will host Long Beach on Thursday evening, at 6 pm, for the second game of the series.

Baseball and Softball Teams Pick Up Big Wins Against El Camino College Compton Educational Center
(Compton, CA) The Mountie Baseball and Softball Teams both picked up big wins, on the road, against El Camino College Compton Education Center (ECCCEC).
The Baseball Team opened a first of three game series and South Coast Conference Play against the Tartars, with a big 14-6 win. Taylor Jimenez (1-0) (SO, Chino H.S.) provided the Mounties with a strong 7 innings pitching performance that included 10 strike outs. Offensively, Marcos Flores (FR, Alta Loma H.S.) lead the Mounties with 4 hits and 3 RBI's, that included 2 doubles and a solo Home Run. Jake Bailey (SO, Charter Oak H.S.) also contributed 3 hits on the day, including a double. The Mounties will next take on ECCCED at home, this Thursday, March 8th at 2:00 pm.
The Softball Team also took on the Tartars and put them away quickly with a mercy rule (game ended in 5 innings) victory of 16-1. Pitcher Natalie Sanchez (FR, Bishop Amat H.S.) struck out 7 in 3 innings of work, followed by Nicole Soltis (SO, Fontana H.S.) who struck out 3 batters in 2 innings of work which gave the Mounties a combined Tartar strikeout total of 10. Diane Guitierrez (SO, Sonora H.S. (lh)) provided the fireworks for the team, with a 2 run homerun and 3 RBI's. Amber Whiteman (FR, Bishop Amat H.S.) and Kimberly Pena (SO, Norco H.S.) eached provided the Mounties with a triple, giving the Mounties a total of 17 hits on the day. The Softall Team will next take on L.A. Harbor College, here at home, on Thursday, March 8th at 3:00 pm. NOTE: THIS IS A NEW GAME TIME!

Mountie Baseball Starts Season Off With A Bang!
(Walnut, CA) The Mountie Baseball Program kicked off the 2012 season with a bang, by winning all three opening weekend games. On Friday, the Mounties defeated L.A. Valley College 6-5, and on Saturday the team defeated Glendale College, 5-3 and the College of the Canyons, 11-3. The team will next take on Ventura College this Thursday, February 9 at 6:00 pm, here at Mazmanian Field.
