Head Coach Laura Beeman, begins her 14th season at the helm of the powerful Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) Women’s Basketball Program.  In 2008, Beeman led the Mounties to their third consecutive state championship. The Mounties have won 4 California Community College State Championships (2004, 2006, 2007, 2008) under Beeman.    The Mounties have reached the California State Community College Championship Elite Eight seven times and at the same time, have transferred over 80 student/athletes to 4 year universities

The 2007-2008 season once again proved to be another dream season for the Mounties as they captured their 3rd consecutive California State Community College Championship. After a stunning first game loss to Orange Coast College, the team rebounded by winning their next 37 geames and capturing the state championship. For the second season in a row, the Mounties finished with a team record of 37 wins and 1 loss.

In April of 2008, another chapter in the Beeman story began as she was named an Assistant Coach with the Los Angeles Sparks Professional Women's Basketball Team. Beeman will continue as the Mt. SAC Head Women's Basketball coach, but will coach with the Sparks during the collegiate off-season.

A former Cal State San Bernardino All-American, Beaman set the single season, career and  individual game assist record while playing for the Coyotes.  Her wealth of experience as a player, has helped her in coaching the Mounties basketball program.  As a player or coach, Coach Beeman is a winner.

Under Coach Beeman, the Mounties have advanced to post season competition every season,  Below are some highlights of her career:

During her career at Mt. SAC the program has produced over 65 South Coast Conference selections, 20 All-State selections, 7 All- Southern California Region selections and has transferred over 85 players to the next level.  In 2008, Jazlyn Davis (2007-2008) joined Anetero Uiagalelei (2003-2004) and Lauren Ervin (2005-2006), Jazlyn Davis (2007-2008) as the Mounties third Kodak All-American. Like Ervin, Davis was also named the State Tournament MVP.  The Mounties have won over 25 tournament championships and have placed numerous players on all-tournament teams. The 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 teams hold the college’s women’s basketball record for most wins and fewest losses in a single season, but the one statistic which makes Coach Beeman and her staff most proud is the near perfect matriculation rate to institutions of higher education over the last 13 years.

Laura is extremely involved with the sport of community college women’s basketball.  She has been a member of the Southern California Community College Basketball Seeding Committee, All State Chair Person and a member of the California Community College State Basketball Executive Board for the past 8 years.
