Doug Todd is one of most prolific Head Coaches in the history of Community College Athletics. His teams have captured and amazing 13 California Community College State Track and Cross Country Championships. Since taking over as Director of Cross-Country and Track & Field in 1995, Mt. SAC teams under the leadership of Todd have also racked up an amazing total of 29 Conference Championships and 17 Southern California Regional Championships.
In addition to his numerous championships, he has also lead Mt. SAC’s teams to four 3rd place State trophies and nine 2nd place State trophies. He has been named Conference Coach of the year 14 times (five for Cross Country/nine times for Track & Field) and was recognized by his peers as California Community Coach of the Year five times (twice for Cross-Country and three times for Track & Field).
Todd currently oversees all of the Mt. SAC Track and Field/Cross Country Programs Special Events, which include the Mt. SAC Relays, Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational, AAF/Mt. SAC Relays Youth Days Program and Footlocker West Regional Cross Country Championships.
Prior to arriving at Mt. SAC, Todd spent several years as a teacher and Head Coach at Artesia High School in Lakewood, California.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from California State University, Long Beach and his Masters of Arts in Physical Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He has earned the Cooper Clinic Certification in Exercise Physiology as well as the USATF Level II Certification in the horizontal and vertical jumps.
